Health Technology in Children’s Palliative Care

Matthew is an Associate Professor of Palliative Care funded by a Yorkshire Cancer Research University Academic Fellowship. His research explores the development of palliative care services including the design and evaluation of digital health approaches.

Matthew obtained his PhD from the School of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Leeds before spending time in the medical device industry supporting manufacturers with user involvement approaches and early-stage economic evaluation. He returned to the University of Leeds as a Research Fellow in Applied Health working with NHS clinical commissioners prior to joining the Academic Unit of Palliative Care.

Dr Eve Namisango
African Palliative Care Association

Eve is the Programmes, Research and Development Manager for the African Palliative Care Association based in Kampala, Uganda. She completed her PhD at the Cicely Saunders Institute Kings College London where she undertook work on the children’s palliative outcome scale. She has been working with Matthew and others on the application of digital health in palliative care within teh African context and will be sharing that experience with us.
